Kylie Call Awarded Second Place in Microsoft Student Research Competition

Kylie Call, a senior Professional and Technical Writing major, was awarded second place in the Microsoft Student Research Competition for undergraduate students at the 39th Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) International Conference on Design of Communication (SIGDOC ’21). She received a medal and a cash award. In addition, Call published a description of the e-poster she submitted for the competition and presented at the conference: “Strategies for International Communication: Getting to Know Your Audience,” Proceedings of the 39th ACM International Conference on Design of Communication (SIGDOC ’21) (New York, New York: Association for Computing Machinery, 2021), pp. 391–93. Her faculty mentor is Sweta Baniya, an assistant professor in the Department of English.
