History assistant professor helps provide access to 65,000 pages of reflections by military personnel

The second Veterans Day transcribathon hosted on behalf of The American Soldier in World War II project, took place November 11–13. Edward Gitre, History, directs the project. The transcribathon provides public access to 65,000 pages of reflections by U.S. military personnel in their own words. The goal of the 72-hour event, completion of 2,000 entries, was surpassed.
