Two faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences were appointed to the administration of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. Sylvester Johnson, professor in the Department of Religion and Culture, director of the Center for Humanities, and assistant vice provost for the humanities, was appointed to the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy; and Susan Magliaro, Professor Emerita in the School of Education, was appointed to the Virginia Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education Commission.
