Jordan Laney, Religion and Culture, received the 2019 Rosenberg Bluegrass Scholarship Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Foundation for “Rehistoricization and Performance: A Methodological Approach to (Re)Creating the Bluegrass Genre,” which Laney presented at the Cultural Studies Association Conference at Tulane University on May 30. The paper discusses findings from Laney’s dissertation for her ASPECT Ph.D., awarded in 2018. Laney received a cash grant and an invitation to present at the academic conference held in conjunction with the IBMA Business Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, this month.
