Lale Hanoz is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Marriage and Family Therapy concentration in the Human Development program at Virginia Tech. She completed her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Couple and Family Therapy in Istanbul, Turkey. With clinical and fieldwork experience, Lale works through a family systems lens and applies Emotion-Focused, structural, and strategic therapy in her practice. She also has three years of experience in project development and grant writing for a non-governmental organization that provides equal access to education for children in rural schools. Her research interests include intergenerational trauma, family dynamics, and trauma-informed family policies.
