Pamela Davis-Vaught, a doctoral student in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, received the 2019 Educator of the Year award from the national anti-hunger nonprofit Share Our Strength for her work in support of childhood hunger programs in Bristol, Virginia, where the Breakfast after the Bell program was launched under her leadership in 2014. In July 2019 Davis-Vaught was appointed to the Virginia Board of Education.
