Former program leaders will also offer insights from their experiences designing programs, leading students abroad, and being part of the global learning community at Virginia Tech.

Program leader perspectives will be provided by the following speakers:

  •  Andrew Becker, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures;
  • Trudy Becker, Department of History (led VT in Rome and Riva);
  • Joseph Mukuni, School of Education (led Teaching and Learning in Zambia);
  • Jane Wemhoener, Department of English (led London Calling, Children’s Literature in the United Kingdom, Northern Lights on the Saga Road in Iceland).

The session is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and the Global Education Office, part of Outreach and International Affairs.
