Sociology Student Organizations
Students for Non-Violence (SNV) is a student-run organization affiliated with the Center for Peace Studies & Violence Prevention. The club was first created in the wake of the tragedy of April 16, 2007, to foster a climate of peace at Virginia Tech and in the community near and far. Over the years it has evolved into a service organization that also explores ways to create positive and caring community and fostering fellowship with each other.
Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.
The CSC is an academic club open to all undergraduate and graduate students! We host monthly meetings, have guest speakers, and go on field trips all related to topics under Crime/Deviance and Sociology! We currently have over 40 members and meet on a monthly basis.
