Students for Non-Violence
Students for Non-Violence (SNV) is a student-run organization affiliated with the Center for Peace Studies & Violence Prevention. The club was first created in the wake of the tragedy of April 16, 2007, to foster a climate of peace at Virginia Tech and in the community near and far. Over the years it has evolved into a service organization that also explores ways to create positive and caring community, and fostering fellowship with each other.
Vision:
To promote a united and focused community, cultivating peace and non-violence through compassion, awareness, and service.
Mission:
To serve the university, local, and global communities by:
- Promoting peace and non-violence through education.
- Promoting diversity.
- Creating opportunities for leadership and to serve the community.
