Due to unforeseen circumstances, poet and author Carrie Fountain has postponed her Sept. 8 Virginia Tech Visiting Writers Series event. More details coming soon.

Fountain is the author of several collections of poetry, including  “Instant Winner,” “The Life,” and "Burn Lake,” which is a National Poetry Series winner. She is also the author of the novel “I’m Not Missing.” Her work has appeared in publications like The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, and Poetry Magazine, among others.

Fountain will participate in a "craft talk" at 3:30 p.m. at the Graduate Life Center in Meeting Room F, followed by a reading at 8 p.m. in the Creativity and Innovation District Resident Hall’s performance space.

The event is free and open to the public. The reading will be followed by a brief Q&A, and books will be available for purchase on location through the Virginia Tech bookstore. The Visiting Writers Series is sponsored by the Virginia Tech MFA Program in Creative Writing, and the Department of English.
