U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Anna Miller and U.S. Navy Lt. Tristan Nguyen were selected as the Hokie Heroes for Saturday's football game against Florida State. 

The Hokie Hero program honors corps alumni who are deployed. Recipients are highlighted by Bill Roth and Mike Burnop during their radio broadcast of Hokie football games, on the Corps of Cadets website, and in the Corps Review alumni magazine. 

Miller graduated from the Corps of Cadets and earned her degree in meteorology from the College of Natural Resources and Environment in 2021. Serving as the assistant operations officer on the USS Oakland, she is currently deployed in support of the 7th Fleet. During her time in the corps, she was a member of Alpha Company and later served as the Charlie Company commander. Miller is from Frederick, Maryland. 

A 2018 corps graduate, Nguyen is also deployed with 7th Fleet onboard USS Oakland where he serves as the ship’s navigator. During his time in the corps, Nguyen was a member of Charlie Company. Hailing from Spring City, Pennsylvania, he earned his degrees in English and political science from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences in 2018.
