School of Education Curriculum and Instruction master’s student Thomas Cummins was awarded the inaugural Future Music Teacher Award by the Virginia String Teachers Association. The award recognizes collegiate string pedagogy or music education majors who have exhibited the highest levels of leadership, dedication, and achievement across institutions of higher learning in the state of Virginia. Cummins received the award at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference, which was held November 17–19, 2022, in Richmond, Virginia.
