Virginia Tech Department of Sociology alumna Christine (White) Mazur has turned her passion for understanding human behavior into a groundbreaking career as one of the charter members of WageUp. This revolutionary AI platform is reshaping how companies manage performance, empowering frontline workers, and driving organizational success.
During her time at Virginia Tech, Christine immersed herself in the study of social causes and consequences of human behavior, honing her research skills along the way. Her thesis delved into a national dataset on public participation in the arts, showcasing her analytical prowess and dedication to understanding societal dynamics. Christine earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology in 1996 and a master's degree in sociology in 2001.
Upon graduating, Christine translated her sociology background into a successful career at CX Solutions, a leading customer experience research and consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Over 15 years, she ascended from a Junior Research analyst to the role of Vice President of Customer Experience where she spearheaded impactful initiatives to enhance customer experiences for prominent clients like AAA. Notably, Christine's expertise in designing and managing employee campaigns resulted in significant performance improvements and increased profitability for organizations. She also earned her Certified Customer Experience professional credential for customer experience practitioners.
Driven by the success of these programs and inspired by emerging technologies, Christine and her former colleagues embarked on a new venture: WageUp. As a charter member, Christine leverages her knowledge and experience to develop cutting-edge technology that streamlines incentive campaigns and delivers real-time coaching and training to frontline employees. WageUp empowers workers to take control of their pay, equips them with the tools to excel, and fosters a culture of enjoyment and fulfillment in the workplace. The platform's impact extends beyond employee satisfaction, driving enhanced performance, productivity, and reduced turnover for businesses.
Christine attributes much of her success to her formative years at Virginia Tech, where she cultivated the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of workforce management and technology innovation. Her journey from sociology student to WageUp exemplifies the transformative power of education and the pursuit of one's passion.
