Empowerment Through Leadership: Building Resilience: An Official UN Parallel Event for the 66th Commission on the Status of Women

On Friday, March 25, "Empowerment Through Leadership: Building Resilience: An Official UN Parallel Event for the 66th Commission on the Status of Women,” will take place virtually.
The panel discussion begins at 10 a.m., and will highlight the role of women's leadership in response, recovery and rebuilding efforts as COVID-19 continues to present challenges across the globe. It will assess strategies to engage, inform, and facilitate meaningful participation to address inequities. The discussion will serve as a working session for scholars, practioners in the field, and decision makers. Register for the event here.
Katrina M. Powell, a professor and director of the Center for Rhetoric in Society, and director of the Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies, will moderate the discussion, along with Farida Jalalzai, associate dean for global initiatives and engagement, and professor of political science.
Panelists include: Jennifer Piscopo (Occidental College), Nadia Brown (Georgetown University), Catherine Bolzendahl (Oregon State University), and Ameena Zia (Virginia Tech).
