In an effort to celebrate Hokies with an entrepreneurial spirit during these uncertain times, LAUNCH: the Center for New Ventures at Virginia Tech, in partnership with the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs, has established an opt-in directory of Hokie-owned businesses. These ventures are founded or operated by alumni, faculty, or staff.  

This directory is intended to help the Hokie community connect and support each other, build the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and recognize entrepreneurial Hokies everywhere.

Included in the directory as just one of nearly 300 entries is Pickett Brass and Blackburn Trumpets, owned by Peter Pickett (Mechanical Engineering ’95; Music Performance ’96), who was featured in the 2018–19 issue of Illumination.
