Virginia Tech graduates gathered at the Netflix Studio in Los Angeles on March 19 for the Hokies in L.A. Alumni Networking event. Alumni took the opportunity to share experiences, build professional networks, explore industry trends — and celebrate the university’s second annual Giving Day.

Ashley Ragan (Communication ’12), manager of global creative marketing for Netflix’s titles, provided the welcome on behalf of the company.

Matthew Winston Jr. (Marketing Management ’90), Virginia Tech’s senior associate vice president for alumni relations, then introduced a panel of alumni speakers, including actress Michelle Krusiec (Theatre Arts ’95); television producer Adam Abramson (English ’06); music producer David Silberstein (Marketing Management ’10); and entrepreneur Tom Bagamane (Communication and Political Science ’83).

The event was a partnership of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, the Pamplin College of Business, the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, and the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter.
