Morgan Sykes Named Recipient of 2016 Outstanding Senior Award

Morgan Sykes, a history major with a minor in psychology, received the 2016 Outstanding Senior Award for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Sykes, who plans to pursue a career in teaching, is the current undergraduate representative to the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. She is also the president and a co-founder of the Virginia Tech chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society designed to promote fellowship among future and current educators.
During her time at Virginia Tech, Sykes has served as a Student Government Association Cabinet representative, a Hokie Camp counselor, and a Hokie Ambassador. She was among the university delegation to present at the 2015 ACC Meeting of the Minds conference.
Sykes is a member of the Kappa Delta sorority, a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, and a recipient of the Virginia Tech Pamplin Leader Award scholarship. She has also served as general manager of the College Mentor for Kids program.
