Our programs offer lots of opportunities for you to enrich your education, both inside and outside of class.
Explore diversity among people, cultures, and geographic locations first-hand on education abroad trips. We offer summer, semester and year-long opportunities to a variety of locations across the world
Out-of-class learning experiences are highly encouraged. Our students undertake independent research, publish their work, and present at conferences.
Our Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Lambda Pi Eta, and Society for Professional Journalism host regular social gatherings, assist with career preparation, volunteer in the community, and offer professional networking.
Our students get real job experience with internships at non-profit organizations, advertising agencies, and news outlets. A communication degree translates to many different job titles. We have dedicated career advising to help you develop skills that are valuable in any field.
We offer scholarships like the Mindy M Somers Memorial Scholarship just for communication students, as well as those sponsored by the university and our College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
We have a strong research faculty filled with award-winning teachers. They have built a reputation among students for being approachable and engaging. Our research ranges from the media effects of gaming, to political campaigns, to social media management, and to broadcast journalism.
