Fabian Prieto-Ñañez is a postdoctoral associate at the Department of Science, Technology and Society.
His research and teaching focus on histories of technologies in the Global South, particularly through the lens of media devices and infrastructures. He recently graduated as a PhD. In communication and Media from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His dissertation focused on ideas of piracy, informality and illegality in the use of early satellite dishes in the Caribbean, particularly in Colombia. He also had worked on histories of computing in Latin America.
