History Minor

Historians interpret the past to make it understandable and relevant to the present and future. Our history majors learn to think like historians, perform careful research, and communicate what they find in meaningful ways.

What You'll Study

To earn this minor, students must complete twelve credit hours of approved courses from four of six predefined areas of study.  Students may select from the areas:

  • Empires, Colonialism, and Globalization
  • Race, Gender, and Class
  • Ideas, Traditions, and Cultures
  • Social, Political, and Cultural Revolutions
  • Science, Technology, Environment, Medicine
  • Conflict, War, and Peace
