Gender Equity Lecture Series - The Politics of Minimum Age of Marriage in the US and Beyond

On September 19, CEUTTSS hosted a public lecture titled “The Politics of Minimum Age of Marriage in the US States and Beyond” presented by Dr. Senem Ertan as part of our Gender Equity Series. Dr. Farida Jalalzai, Associate Dean of Global Initiatives and Engagement introduced the speaker and moderated the question and answer session.
Dr. Ertan is currently a Fulbright Scholar with the Kennedy School of Government in the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard University and will be visiting CEUTTSS during the Fall semester. She has been a co-principal investigator in the WomanStats Project since September 2011. She has published articles on gender politics and comparative politics in journals such as Politics and Gender, Social Indicators Research and Global Society. She has also published book chapters with publishers such as Palgrave Macmillan, Cambridge Scholars Publishing and Nova Science Publishers. Her recent research interests include gender policies, the politics of age of marriage in the US states, women’s NGOs, and comparative politics.
