Take the Lead
Begin preparing for your career with other Hokies through a leadership focused program. Participants will network with leaders, employers, and alumni while developing career resources. This opportunity is ideal for students who already have established career goals or those still figuring out their professional goals. Through short sessions that introduce leaders, employers, and alumni, you will learn about different industries, job titles, and various ways to navigate the path to your career.

Translating Study Abroad into Career Skills brings together alumni from diverse industries to share how their global experiences shaped their professional paths. Panelists will discuss how they identified the skills gained abroad—such as communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and cultural awareness—and translated them into resumes, interviews, and workplace success. Students will gain practical strategies for articulating the career value of study abroad and learn how international experiences can strengthen career readiness across fields.
Navigating the Transition After College

Graduation is just the beginning. Join a panel of recent alumni (1–2 years out) as they share what the transition from college to life after graduation really looks like. From landing a first job or navigating uncertainty to adjusting to new routines, expectations, and identities, our panelists will offer candid insights, lessons learned, and advice they wish they had heard sooner. This conversation is designed to help you feel more prepared, more confident, and less alone as you think about what comes next.
