Curriculum

What You'll Study

In philosophy, students grapple with some of the deepest questions we face as human beings: What is the world really like?  How do we know?  How should we live our lives?  The aim of a philosophical education is not to enforce one particular set of views, but to help students engage with a range of historical and contemporary perspectives as they reflect on their own beliefs.  Along the way, philosophical study teaches vital skills: how to think carefully about big ideas, analyze and critically assess arguments, and write clearly about complex topics.
