Education Abroad in Reggio Emilia, Italy

This program is offered by faculty in the Department of Human Development. Students and faculty travel and study in Italy. This program includes the following components:

• Participate in an International Study Group in Reggion Emilia
• Basic conversational Italian offered prior to the trip
• Explore Italian culture and art
• Tours of Florence, Parma, and Milan
• Options to visit other Italian and European cities

International Summer Program in South Korea

This interdisciplinary program is offered by faculty in multiple college departments. Students and faculty travel and study for four weeks at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. You will learn about adult life, families, and housing and communities, and living arrangements across the lifespan through two courses and activities:

• Housing, Family, and Community (3 credits)
• Adult Life in Korean Society (3 credits)
• Field trip sites include traditional Korean village, eco housing tour, intergenerational center, senior housing, and a kitchen and bath design center

International Dementia Care European Tour

This 4-week summer study abroad program offered by the Human Development and Family Science Department examines the global prevalence of dementia, national responses addressing care practices and policies, and multicultural approaches to care practices and policies.

• The program includes site visits to multiple programs and dementia friendly communities in countries across Europe (Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, England, Italy and Scotland).
• Complete one-credit pre-departure course in the spring covering logistics, expectations, program information, and Dementia Friend Training.
