President’s Message

Dear Esteemed Staff of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences,

I am honored to serve as the 2023-24 President of the CLAHS Staff Association. Our association stands as a testament to the incredible individuals who make up the college. With unity, purpose, and a commitment to excellence, we embark on a journey to foster a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and fun this year!

Inclusivity lies at the core of our mission. Each member of our association brings a unique perspective, a wealth of experiences, and a diverse range of talents. It is through embracing these differences that we cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered.

Engagement is the key force that helps move us forward. By actively participating in the association, we commit ourselves to personal and professional growth. Let us seek out opportunities to share our knowledge and collaborate on projects that spark new ideas and perspectives. As we engage with one another, we strengthen the bonds that bind us as colleagues and friends, creating a network of support.

We are committed to providing informative resources that empower you to excel! Our association will serve as a point of contact to share updated information about Virginia Tech’s policies and resources for Staff.  We will also be providing information and offering support on how to obtain professional development opportunities. Through these endeavors, we aim to help you improve in your current position while fostering a community of lifelong learning.

Laughter, shared experiences, and memorable moments are vital in fostering a great work environment. We will be organizing social gatherings, team-building events, and celebrations that infuse joy into our professional lives. By creating an environment where humor and happiness flourish, we ensure that our association remains a place where you can unwind, connect, and start lasting friendships.
