This webinar celebrates the launch of a new collection, Fostering Experiential Knowledge of Cultural Diversity Through Studying Abroad, edited by Dr. Joseph Mukuni, Virginia Tech. The collection seeks to allay anxieties and misconceptions associated with foreign travel by sharing experiences of those that have traveled abroad. Through personal accounts of study abroad participants, the book describes the benefits of experiencing life in culturally different settings. The target readers of the book are college and university professors and staff that organize study abroad program, students contemplating taking a study abroad program, and agencies that fund study abroad programs. The target readers also include parents and guardians of students contemplating traveling abroad for study. Several of the contributors to this volume will offer their experiences and lessons learned. This is part of The Global Bookshelf: Book Launch Webinar Series. Moderated by Farida Jalalzai.
