Jason Dossett is an assistant professor of practice in the School of Education at Virginia Tech. His teaching and research focus on agricultural education, career and technical education, and teacher professional development.

He is a former high school agricultural education teacher with 11 years of classroom experience in Tennessee, where he taught agriscience, ag-business, plant science, and greenhouse management. Dr. Dossett’s research explores early-career teacher professional development, instructional improvement, and teacher support networks. He has organized statewide professional development initiatives such as the New Teacher Bootcamp and has collaborated with university faculty, policymakers, and community stakeholders on curriculum alignment and program improvement.

Dr. Dossett has been awarded the Ed and Susie Osborne Endowment for AEC Graduate Student Research and Professional Development and the UF CALS Scholarship of Teaching and Learning grant. He has presented his work at national and international conferences including the American Association for Agricultural Education and the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. His research has been published in peer-reviewed outlets focused on teacher education, agricultural education, and professional development.
