Research interests: gender, technology, and digital safety
Bio: Emaediong is a master’s student from Nigeria with a research focus on gender, technology, and digital safety. She is particularly interested in technology-facilitated crimes and the ways intersecting identities such as gender, class, race, and age shape experiences of harm and vulnerability. Her current research examines digital scam vulnerability among African international students in the United States, exploring how migration-specific social conditions shape scam experiences, reporting behavior, and community responses. Her broader studies aim to contribute to understanding digital inclusion, safer internet governance, and trust and safety in online spaces. Outside of academic work, Emaediong enjoys exploring digital platforms to understand online trends and user interactions.
