Aidan Malanoski

Aidan Malanoski is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of English at Virginia. Their research focuses primarily on understanding the structural and social factors that influence language variation and change. They primarily study North American English, especially as spoken in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to their research on language variation and change, they are also interested in language users' knowledge and awareness of linguistic features, especially as manifested in different types of linguistic performance. Dr. Malanoski has also worked in theoretical syntax, with a focus on the processes by which abstract syntactic representations are converted into speech sounds or signs.
