Saturday, October 27, 2018. 1:00pm. Civil War Film Series: Pharaoh’s Army (1995). When Union soldiers show up at the farm of a Kentucky woman whose husband is fighting for the Confederacy, friction inevitably results. Includes a talk and Q&A with Appalachian Civil War expert Brian McKnight. Free and open to the public. The Lyric Theatre, Blacksburg.

March 22-24, 2019. Civil War Weekend. Join us in Blacksburg for Virginia Tech’s 28th annual Civil War Weekend. Nine expert speakers will reflect on the leadership brought forth by America’s greatest crisis–from Lincoln, Grant, and Lee to Robert Smalls and Ann Pamela Cunningham. The weekend will be followed by an optional two-night field trip to the Virginia peninsula. Check back later in the fall for full details.
