Humanities Summer Stipends

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) allows each university to nominate two faculty members to submit proposals for summer 2024 NEH humanities stipends. The Virginia Tech Center for Humanities invites proposals from any full-time faculty member at Virginia Tech, to be considered for nomination to the NEH’s national competition. The deadline for submitting proposals to be nominated by the Center for Humanities for the NEH summer stipend national competition is Monday, September 11, 2023.

Proposals must contain the following:

• Plan of work (1 page maximum)
• Project narrative (maximum of 3 single-spaced pages)
• Bibliography (one-page maximum)
  
• CV (2-pages max)
  
• Appendix (optional, 1-page max) for translations, scholarly editions, and digital projects

The Center for Humanities invites all faculty members (including non-tenure track faculty members) in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and faculty in humanities disciplines university-wide to submit a proposal for a VT Center for Humanities summer stipend ($4,000) for summer 2024.  The deadline for proposals for a VT Center for Humanities summer stipend is December 15, 2023.
