Center for Gerontology Futures Board

Futures Board

The center receives guidance and support from its external advisory council, The Futures Board. The Board is composed of up to 21 members representing a variety of aging-related agencies, organizations, and services across the state of Virginia. The Board meets in Blacksburg twice a year.

The mission of the Futures Board of the Center for Gerontology is to:

  1. Advise the center regarding current and future programs and activities;
  2. Support the development of financial and other resources for the center, to the extent that such development activities are not in conflict with the Board members’ organizations;
  3. Offer educational opportunities for gerontology students; and
  4. Help establish positive relationships between the center and appropriate public and private organizations.
