ASPECT doctoral students Rob Flahive and Shelby Ward participated in the American Association of Geographers Annual Meeting, which was held April 3–7 in Washington, D.C. Flahive presented “Toward the Fortified City: Geopolitics of Urban Design in Al-Sisi’s Cairo” and Ward gave a paper titled “Mapping the Culture(s) of Sri Lankan Tourism: A Cosmopolitan-capitalist Value of Culture in Tourist Topographies.”
