I am a rising second year Ph.D. student in the HDFS department with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to attending Virginia Tech, I obtained my master’s degree from Northwestern University in Marriage and Family Therapy where I developed my skills as a therapist, and discovered my love for community mental health. As I continue my higher education journey, I will be researching the consequences of Medicaid and Medicare policies on community mental health therapists and administrators in relation to ethical decision making and quality of care. I am a member of AAMFT, president elect of the HDFS-GSA and a scholar who is rooting in social justice and expanding quality, accessible mental health care to all.
