Meet Our Commencement Speaker

Liz Hart is deputy social secretary for the White House, where she hosts and plans events for President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. 

Hart, an award-winning producer in the live event and television industry, has honed her event planning skills since graduating from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a degree in communication. 

She has been an assistant stage manager, producer, and special projects manager for a host of national and international events, including the Vancouver Olympics, the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball Drop official livestream show, and five Super Bowl halftime shows.

Hart, who has her own company, Liz Hart Productions, LLC, moved into the political realm during Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, producing rallies and events. She also served as White House director of message events for Vice President Biden during the Obama-Biden administration.
