Heath Furrow

Heath Furrow has been advising in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences since June 2019. Prior to this role, he was a master's student and Teaching Assistant in the Department of History at Virginia Tech. He also has experience working in K-12 education and in other roles within higher education. His academic interests focus on European imperialism in the Middle East.

Heath focuses on helping students identify and meet their personal and professional goals. He works with students to understand the nature and purpose of their curriculum, explore extracurricular opportunities, and navigate various university resources. He also supports students in developing strategies for academic challenges and connecting with offices and services that can assist them.

Heath is a lifelong resident of the New River Valley and an alumnus of Virginia Tech. In addition to his academic interests, he enjoys researching local Appalachian History.
