Carolyn joined the CLAHS advising team in 2021. She is a proud Virginia Tech graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English and holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University. Carolyn has spent more than 24 years serving Virginia Tech in a variety of roles, in addition to four years as a local high school counselor. For the past seven years, she has worked as an Academic Advisor.
Advising Approach
Carolyn takes a holistic, student-centered approach to advising, supporting each student based on their individual goals, strengths, and needs. She especially enjoys watching students grow throughout their time at Virginia Tech while celebrating their milestones, seeing them overcome challenges, and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Outside of Work
Outside of work, Carolyn enjoys staying active through CrossFit, baking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
