Games and Simulations Minor
Curriculum
What You'll Study
Students begin with foundational courses such as Learning from Play: What Video Games Teach About Humanity and Behavior, Perspectives on Games and Humanity, and Topics in Games and Simulation. From there, students select electives connected to their interests and career goals while exploring topics such as digital culture, storytelling, virtual environments, human behavior, user experience, and emerging technologies.
The minor combines humanities and social science perspectives with applied and technical approaches, making it a strong complement to many majors, including computer science, engineering, design, media, communication, psychology, and related fields. Students prepare to work in the massive games and simulations industry.
Students complete the minor with a capstone experience focused on applied research and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
