With prestigious alumni that include seven Medal of Honor winners and over 100 graduates promoted to General and Flag Officer rank, we also foster leadership that can be applied successfully in business, industry, and public service.

The Corps upholds the university values of Duty, Brotherhood, Service, Honor, Sacrifice, Loyalty, Leadership, and Ut Prosim. Being part of this great tradition will lay a foundation for a fulfilling and productive college career, friendships that will last a lifetime, and future leadership opportunities.

Academics

Navy ROTC requires midshipmen to take two semesters each of scientific notation Calculus and Calculus-based Physics, regardless of major. These courses must be taken at Virginia Tech - for more details on the classes that fulfill these requirements, please see the current handbook.

Marine Option midshipmen are not required to complete the technical requirements of Navy Option students.

However, all students are required to complete the full complement of Naval Science courses, including MN 1004 - Intro to Naval Science which first-year cadets should enroll in.
