FMDS Fashion Show through the designer's eyes
What do lily pads, menswear and Little Red Riding Hood have in common? Into the Wild. With April comes the annual Fashion Merchandising and Design Society fashion show featuring unique designs created by students.
On the night of April 12, these designs will come to life on the catwalk. For this year’s theme, Into the Wild, designers grasped inspiration from any aspect of the Wild they could.
For senior fashion merchandising and design major Hannah Carlton, this year is her first designing but her last with the show. After wearing one of her best friend’s designs last year, she is excited to model and show off her own creations.
“Since the theme is Into the Wild, I wanted to do stuff that’s either natural or animalistic,” Carlton said. “So two of my designs have fur accents and one of them is really leafy — it has mixed materials.”
